DBA USA, the American branch of Disc Brakes Australia, is widely known for their broad catalog of upgraded brake rotors designed to work with factory calipers. With everything from single-piece plain discs for better-than-stock replacement all the way up to two-piece slotted rotors suitable for full-on track duty, they have applications for just about any performance-oriented car or off-road truck you can think of.
One thing they didn’t have, though, were upgraded calipers for those who wanted more stopping power, control, and fade resistance than could be had with factory clamps. That’s changing in 2015, though, as DBA USA adds six-piston monoblock aluminum caliper brake kits to their lineup of disc upgrades.
These kits will utilize a 355mm x 32mm disc in either a one- or two-piece design, and will come with three different pad options from Hawk or Carbotech depending on intended use. Initially, applications will include C5/C6 Corvettes, the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S twins, and the BMW 3-series – all cars favored by enthusiasts for track day fun.
Per DBA’s Yoni Kellman, “The kits will be all-inclusive, right down to the brake lines and even the fluid. We are using the same six piston caliper for these applications, with custom brackets to position them correctly, and rotor hats with the appropriate offset.”
Also new to the DBA USA line are replacement flat discs for factory brake applications with two piece rotors, or aftermarket “big brake” kits. “There are some two-piece brake rotors out there that are made from pretty soft material, and when they wear out beyond service limits, we can provide longer-wearing replacement discs that will bolt directly to the existing rotor hat,” Kellman adds.
