PRI 2019: Radium Engineering’s Fueling Systems For The Nissan VR38

When you get a bit bored with your Nissan GT-R’s factory output, it’s only a matter of time before you start browsing the vast catalog of bolt-on power adders. We all know how responsive the potent VR38DETT engine is to mild modifications. With every addition, the encouragement from the resulting bumps in power pushes the enthusiast to pursue truly frightening levels of boost, which need to be complemented with more fuel. With Radium Engineering‘s easily installed fueling components, the power-hungry GT-R owner can transcend the quad-digit mark and turn their car into a hypercar killer.

In-Tank Hangers

As soon as the user starts outfitting their engine with bolt-on parts, they need to quench its increased thirst. Radium’s in-tank hanger replaces the single, factory in-tank fuel pump with a multi-pump, capable of supporting high-horsepower levels. Without headache or fears of decreased reliability, this modification is a sensible, straightforward way to find those eye-opening power levels you’re after.

Fuel Rails

Of course, getting the fuel from the tank to the engine is only part of the challenge. Getting both banks of a modified VR38DETT fed with the right amount of fuel requires rails of a higher caliber. Radium Engineering’s fuel rails are sturdy and stylish, machined from 6061 aluminum and then anodized black. Manufactured with a large internal bore, these fuel rails can support all necessary engine power requirements — from 600 to 2,000 horsepower — and beyond.

These rails are compatible with all popular fuel types, including E85.

Each rail features four -8AN ORB ports. With two end ports and two top ports for a total of eight ports. It is easy to add fuel system accessories such as pressure transducers and fuel-pulse dampers. The fuel rails feature 14mm injector bores and are compatible with the OEM injectors, as well as any aftermarket injectors with OEM VR38DETT fitment.

The fuel rails mount with phenolic spacers and washers for 100-percent fuel insulation from the hot intake manifold. The unique lower intake manifold-mounting points permit shorter, less restrictive rails. Additionally, the OEM injector clips can be reused, as shown below.

Straightforward, simple, and completely necessary when cranking up the boost pressure, these fuel system modifications don’t require much head-scratching. In fact, the most consideration you have to make is the direction in which you take your build. These additions are the way to turn a GT-R into a highway demon, a world-class dragster, or a time-attack weapon that churns the asphalt into a fine paste. No matter which route you take, Radium Engineering fuel rails are a great idea.
