PRI 2019: Energy Suspension Announces Poly Bushings For MK4 Supra

Nearly 20-years ago, Energy Suspension was tasked with providing a performance polyurethane bushing for the original Toyota Supra used in The Fast and the Furious. After filming finished, they shelved the master molds and basically forgot about bushings for Toyota’s flagship. It wasn’t until earlier this year when Energy received a call from Craig Leiberman, looking for the same bushings for a replica build he was overseeing of his iconic car, that they decided to bring some parts back for the MK4 Supra.

After they dredged up the molds and pushed out a few more bushings, Energy Suspension figured it was time to offer these to the masses. Though the catalyst was a money-no-object build of that bright orange Supra, now the rest of Supra owners can enjoy the benefits of Energy Suspension’s Control Arm and F/R Sway Bar bushing kit.

Available in red and black, these bushings can replace the aging rubber OE pieces that, at 25 years old, have seen better days.

Energy Suspension’s kit offers crisper handling, better resistance to oils and other contaminants, and a longer lifespan than the OE rubber. With improved communication, better response, and faster transitions at the limit, the inspired driver will enjoy a strengthened connection between themselves and their car on the street or the track.

Expect these polyurethane bushings to hit the shelves in February 2020. Until then, do your homework so that you can try your best Paul Walker or Leh Keen impression next spring.
