Performance Friction Brakes (PFC) published a product release in May of 2020, announcing a limited part number availability of race-ready pads and discs that have been prepared using a proprietary “Dyno-Bedding” cycle. At the time there were a few part number options with the time-saving procedure available.
PFC tends to cater to customer requests, and in response to a volume of requests, they have just announced an expansion of the new line of Dyno-Bedded CarbonMetallic pads and ZERO FAILURES discs.
Kyle Tellstrom of PFC’s dirt track sales team gave us the updated news that “ninety-five percent of our product line is now available with dyno-bedding,” he said. “We should have all part numbers included sometime around February of 2021.”
The Dyno-Bedded products got the attention of race teams after going through the uncertainty of racing being shut down to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Once the prospect of limited track time as series and tracks began a return to the compressed racing schedule, track time became more valuable.
Tellstrom assures us “the Dyno-Bedding cycle can save racer’s time and money at the track by preparing the pads and discs so they are fully ready to race upon installation.”
While many teams dreaded the routine, most racers were already aware of the benefits of bedding-in pads and discs for longevity and service. “Having this routine performed at the factory is a major benefit to teams that want to spend their track time on improving their laps times yet still take advantage of the increased life of the pads and discs,” Tellstrom added.
