The record-shattering 670 horsepower Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak electric race car will be on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California, from now until February 1, 2019.
The highly-sophisticated race car will be on display outside the Mullin Design Studio prior to the upcoming future-of-mobility exhibit “Driving Toward Tomorrow.” The exhibit will showcase the automotive industry’s achievements in transportation design and engineering.
The Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak made history at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb where two-time Le Mans 24 Hour winner Roman Dumas reset the outright record to 7:57.148, clipping a full 16-seconds off the previous best time on the infamously treacherous climb to the summit.
Other featured vehicles at the “Driving Toward Tomorrow” exhibit will include concept vehicles, making the I.D. R a perfect fit.
So if you live in the Los Angeles area or planning on visiting in early 2019 take the opportunity to visit the Petersen Museum as it’s definitely worth the trip.
