Video: Tadge Juechter Gives Some Insight on the Z06 Suspension

Corvette Online recently visited the Spring Mountain Motor Resort to explore, photograph, and drive Chevrolet’s new beast, the 2015 Z06. Aside from the awesome experiences behind the wheel, we were able to spend some quality time with a few of those that helped to bring this amazing car to the pavement.

mg_8905One of the GM minds we spoke with was Corvette’s Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter. As anyone could imagine, he has a wealth of information and insight about the Corvette, and is a real pleasure to speak with. During the previous night’s dinner and presentation, we heard that there were some last minute adjustments made to the Z06 before its big debut at Road Atlanta, so we just had to ask Juechter to elaborate on this.

Some people are still fans of the more traditional suspension setups, and they certainly have their place. Fore example, quick adjustments at the track wouldn’t be possible with the Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) unless you had the electronic equipment and knowhow. That being said, for the average user the MRC is a great option allowing you to take a relatively comfortable drive to a track or autocross, stiffen the car for competition, and return home riding on the softer setup.

We have all been watching the world shrink due to technology over the last several years. The tuning adjustments sent from the The Ring is just another example of how it can positively affect the car world allowing us to continually improve our systems on the fly.
