With the Rolex 24 coming up in less than two weeks, we’ve been graced with tons of videos as the top manufactures prepare for the race. In this in cabin car footage, we tag along with pro driver Ozz Negri while he beats on the number 86 Acura NSX GT3 for testing at Daytona International Speedway.
This Acura NSX GT3 is actually one of two cars from Michael Shank Racing, and each will feature unique mirror image paint schemes which pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of Acura. The number 86 NSX in the video starts with a black nose and fades to grey, with stylish crosshatch making its way to round of the rear bumper.
President of HPD and Acura Motorsports Art St. Cyr said, “The debut of the Acura NSX GT3 at the prestigious Rolex 24 will mark the return of the Acura brand to IMSA sports-car competition. We’ve aimed to race the NSX in North America since the car was just a sketch on paper, and we couldn’t be more excited to debut at Daytona.” With the NSX starting to be delivered to customers, the Rolex 24 will surely keep the excitement going as fans get to see the GT3 spec’d car in action.
With the drivers point of view in the video, you can see how poised and controlled the new NSX GT3 is while tearing it up on track during the Roar Before The 24, but the real question is how it will perform up against the rest of the competition?
