Today we were doing our usual few minute long peek through the updated listings on Bring A Trailer‘s site– which seems to always bring us across at least a couple of listings worth clicking on. But, every once in a while, we come across some prettttty badass cars and, well, today was one of those days.
Our favorite being this 2012 Lotus Evora GT4 cup car. This thing is definitely not the usual “picture perfect” example one would find on Bring A Trailer, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less awesome.
The car is being sold by Taggart Autosport of North Carolina, whom purchased it in order to compete in the Lotus Cup Evora series. Its 4.0-liter DOHC 2GR-FE V6 mid-engine features a dry-sump system, and sends its 360-horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels with an Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox.
The list of cup modifications is decently extensive– including a twin-disc clutch, 25 gallon fuel cell, aftermarket exhaust manifold, carbon plenum, twin-core aluminum radiator, Laminova heat exchanger, twin-pump fuel tank filler system, and a complete FIA fuel system. The interior is fitted correspondingly; with an FIA roll cage, poly-carbonate windshield, Sparco wheel, PI Omega dash, and Corbeau seat paired with a Schroth harness.
The suspension consists of forged aluminum double wishbones, Ohlins TTX dampers, Eibach springs, uniball bushings, and aftermarket anti-roll bars. An air jack system sits beneath the chassis along with 4-piston calipers and 2-piece aluminum discs hidden under the wide wheel and tire setup.
You can check out the aero from almost every angle and hear the gorgeous sounds that come from this beast in the walk-around video below.
