Roush Performance Shows One-Off Stage 3 Mustang At Monterey Car Week

Roush Performance presented automotive aftermarket industry leader Wade Kawasaki with a one-off 2019 Roush Stage 3 Mustang at the 28th annual McCall’s Motorworks Revival, held August 14, 2019, in Monterey, California during Monterey Car Week.

Based on the highest-performing Mustang offered by Roush, the 2019 Stage 3 car adorns Gulf Racing livery, painted by SpeedKore Performance Group. Other exterior highlights include carbon fiber side vents and side-view mirrors by SpeedKore as well as a Roush R8 Aero body kit complemented by front and rear carbon fiber Roush spoilers.

The Mustang receives power from a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine complemented by a Roush TVS R2650 supercharger, cold air intake, and Roush calibration. In total, the car has 710 horsepower and 610 foot-pounds of torque.

The car was built to be a “track-capable daily driver.” Some of its unique features include a Roush active exhaust system and a handbrake designed for drifting from Sikky Manufacturing.

On the inside, Kawaski’s Stage 3 Mustang comes with a sport interior package with color-matched orange accents and a unique Roush plaque.

“This was my first time seeing the finished car, and Roush Performance has created something truly special here,” said Legendary Companies President and CEO Wade Kawasaki.

A set of one-off forged aluminum wheels by Wheel Vintiques sized 20×8.5-inch and 20×11-inch, wrapped in 245/35R20 and 285/35R20 performance tires, give the car a nostalgic look. The wheels are a modern interpretation of the iconic wheels of the original Ford GT40.

“Unveiling this custom Stage 3 Mustang at McCall’s Motorworks Revival was an exhilarating experience,” Kawasaki said. He added that he was proud to share the moment with the public at the exclusive event and hoped everyone enjoyed seeing the car as much as he did.

Alongside the Mustang on the tarmac and in the hangar of the Monterey Jet Center was a new 2019 Roush F-150 SC.

The F-150 SC delivers heart-pounding off-road performance with 650 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque on tap from the Roushcharged 5.0-liter. It also comes with an optional Roush active exhaust system, and a Roush/Fox 2.0 suspension upgrade.

Attendees at the event enjoyed a curated selection of the world’s most beautiful cars and aircraft, along with gourmet food and beverages.
