Since its inception back in 2014, the Lexus RC has, in a way, shaped the first luxury sports model of the brand’s kind. With just the right amount of class (versus aggression) in its styling and performance characteristics, the car has become quite the popular daily driver for automotive enthusiasts. For 2019, Lexus claims they have further refined this concept – which is scheduled to officially debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The sporty, yet elegant design was accented with the addition of a number of new exterior bits. A re-shaped front bumper features a new grille mesh pattern, optional triple LED headlamps, and L-shaped LED clearance lamps, while the rear has new air ducts and distinctive L-shaped lenses. On the interior, a dark gray streamline treatment has been added, making for a total of seven interior color combinations when including those for the F Sport. For 2019, the RC F Sport will receive the classic F Sport grille pattern, 19-inch alloy wheels, and many other new exclusive interior and exterior add ons.
“Sharper and more graceful” was the goal for the LC flagship – and designers went about the 2019 RC with the same idea in mind. Stiffer suspension bushings and new 19-inch wheels with grippy tires make for excellent handling characteristics. After rigorous real-world testing, the cars aerodynamics were fine-tuned even more than they were before. Two notable additions are the new fin shapes on the side windows as well as a new duct on the rear bumper – both of which dramatically proved to increase airflow and overall stability.
