Optima Batteries DriveAutoX Brings Friendly Driving To Everyone

Drive; (Verb) To cause and guide the movement of, or otherwise cause to move by force or compulsion.

Optima is driven to change the paradigm of autocross, and they have created a new series of autocross lifestyle events which showcase the social aspect of the sport along with some competition. Everyone knows about autocross, and the new DriveAutoX series will heavily emphasis drivers along with the social aspect of developing new relationships while improving driving skill.

As for what is different, Optima tells us most everything! The entire series is about lifestyle, the people, the experience, and the competition. With a larger focus on socialization, every event will be sure to feature opportunities to interact with the other drivers, as well as strengthen existing friendships while providing the opportunity to start new ones.

Optima wants to keep thing simple, and the rules are straight forward and easy to follow. As much as we all love competition, these events will be competitive while remaining driver friendly and fun. There are classes for all makes and models, regardless of year or modifications. Prizes will be given out to the fastest drivers, but the real grand prize is that everyone comes out, has some fun, and leaves with a smile on their face!

One of the many highlights of the event is that you will never be required to work the course for cone duty! Through Optima’s partnership with FSAE and other local automotive trade organizations, you’ll be able to attend DriveAutoX without the need for course work. Proceeds from the events will be donated toward organizations that provide automotive oriented programs for young auto enthusiasts, helping to secure the future of the sport.

With a mixture of new and familiar racing, Optima’s DriveAutoX is focused on creating a unique racing environment. Certain qualifying formats will be in place to provide maximum seat time, and each DriveAutoX event is a full two days of action packed behind the wheel compeition. With upward of three cars on the course at one time, there will be no shortage of action to watch and participate in. Saturday and Sunday qualifying will feature unique driving formats to best determine the overal class champion, and because this event features unique rules and challenges, maybe present impromptu shootouts, runoffs, pursuits, and head to head compeition!

Located throughout the country, the DriveAutoX events will take place at some premier facilities including¬† ZMax Raceway, Grissom Air Force Base, Mineral Wells, and others. Using well known “playgrounds” for events, there will be many great layouts, plenty of paddock parking, and each location provides unique local food you won’t find anywhere else. Oh, and there will even be paoints, grand prizes, and giveaways from the sponsors to add more flavor to the fun!

The Optima DriveAutoX series is all about fun. Participating will provide a unique opportunity to make new friends, express your personality, and have a blast behind the wheel! For more information or to sign up for an event, visit DriveAutoX.com
