Summit Racing Now Offering NecksGen Safety Gear

New from Summit – they are now offering NecksGen Safety Gear. NecksGen is know for their Head Restraint Systems but they also make great race harnesses and seats. See more details below.

Official Release:

NecksGen is best-known for its REV Head Restraint Systems, and rightly so. But they also make race harnesses and seats that are well-worth a look, too.

REV Head Restraint Systems
Some head and neck restraint systems can limit freedom of movement and make it difficult to get in and out of the race car. The REV Head Restraint System replaces the heavy yoke used in similar systems with a patented tethering system. This makes it more ergonomically correct, minimizing interference between the seat and the helmet while improving comfort and reducing weight. The NecksGen REV system also reduces the chance of injury to the chest or collarbones under impact.

The NecksGen REV Head Restraint Systems are available in two versions—the standard model with fixed-length tethers and the REV2 Lite that weighs a mere 1.2 pounds and features adjustable-length tethers. Both have a quick release system and integrated belt guides.

Race Harnesses
NecksGen Race Harnesses five-point harnesses are available with two or three inch wide shoulder and lap belts and a choice of cam-lock or latch-and-link latches. Harnesses with two inch belts are SFI 16.2-rated; harnesses with three inch belts are SFI 16.1-rated.

The harnesses are available in two styles. “Pull down” harnesses have adjustable and removable attachment points on the shoulders for use with wrap-around or tabbed mounting hardware. “Pull-up” harnesses have adjustable-length straps at the waist that allow you to pull upward on the loose end to tighten. This makes them a good choice for tight-fitting cockpits and smaller cars.

Competition Seats
Summit Racing carries several types of NecksGen Competition Seats. All feature durable, lightweight fiberglass shells and are FIA-homologated to 8855-1999 standards.

1000 Series seats are ideal for smaller classics or rally cars with limited cabin width, and weigh just 19.6 pounds each. They are available with fabric or vinyl covers.

4009 Series seats are a highback bucket with a 15 degree layback. They feature adjustable back and base cushions for superior comfort and support, plus black leather wear patches at the shoulder areas. The seas are available in standard (22.440 inch) and wide (23.330 inch) versions and come with fabric covers.

4119HR Series seats are also highback buckets with a 15 degree layback, but are designed so you can attach the upper backs to your roll cage. This makes the seat more rigid for extra safety. Air ports in the lower seat back allow the use of a fan or NACA duct to blow in fresh air to reduce the driver’s temperature during competition.

Features:

  • Pull-up harnesses have adjustable-length straps at the waist that allow you to pull upward on the loose end to tighten
