Hands down, the Trans Am series is one of the most competitive formulas in the motorsports world right now. With plenty of success in the series, professional racing team Burtin Racing has made quite the name for themselves.
Two of Burtin’s drivers, Lawrence Loshak and Tomy Drissi, have been headlining recent event scoreboards, proving themselves in what many refer to as the best test of road racing skill in North America.
Just recently, Loshak achieved his very first Trans Am win in Pittsburgh in the No. 2 Pennzoil/ETEReman/GoShare Chevrolet Camaro. Not long after, he set a new track record during round six of the season at Mid-Ohio, resulting in a second place overall standing in the Mid Ohio 100. Unfortunately, Drissi, who is a two-time previous champion of the 2018 West Coast Trans Am Championship, had mechanical problems at Mid Ohio, forcing him off the track early. Highlights of the recent Mid-Ohio action can be seen on the CBS Sports network on August 26 at 2pm ET.
Nevertheless, both Loshak and Drissi have got a taste for success and landed themselves in the standings for the Northern Cup Trans Am championship. Now, they’re looking to close the gap in Wisconsin this weekend at Road America.
Round seven kicks off near Loshak’s home town Saturday, August 25th.
“I get to drive a TA1 car at my home track. It’s a dream come true — I couldn’t be more excited!” said Lawrence. “Of course, winning in front of my family, friends, and coworkers is my other dream. We need it for the championship. I know we have the speed to win it all, but I know there are a handful of guys that are not going to make it easy. With the weather looking beautiful, it’s going to be an incredible race!”
With their recent successes, we have high hopes for the guys at Burtin Racing. For a full schedule of their events and other news, check out their website HERE. Follow all the latest from Lawrence Loshak at loshakracing.com and Tomy Drissi Racing at tomydrissi.com.
