A Jaw Dropping, 1968 Pontiac GTO With Baer Stopping Power

1GTO

Let’s talk about eye catching stopping power. Stopping power that not only gives your muscle car the ability to stop on a dime but will also give your next project vehicle the jaw-dropping visual appeal that we all crave.

While plenty of reputable companies out there provide adequate stopping power for your Street Muscle project, only a handful of high-end companies are willing to spend the time and effort it takes to push their brand of brake technology forward and set themselves apart from the rest of the market.

All of the Baer brake systems feature directionally vaned rotors. Baer’s curved vane structure acts as a centrifugal pump that pulls air into the center and pumps it to the outer edges for exceptional heat dissipation.

By designing the rotors directionally, it adds more stability and mass to the rotors. And Baer is the only aftermarket brake manufacturer to offer the same aesthetic look for the front and rear of your vehicle. The Baer Brake Systems are slotted, drilled, and zinc-plated creating a stunning work of art behind the wheels.

All Baer Brake Systems are slotted, drilled, and zinc-plated creating a radiant work of art behind the wheels.

We recently spent some time checking out the official BAER Brakes YouTube channel to find out just what makes this brake system a popular choice with Street Muscle enthusiasts. The channel is filled with new product install videos, drag racing, and autocross competitions utilizing the Baer Brake brand. But one video in particular, really captured the essence of eye catching stopping power that we were searching for.

The video below, produced by Baer Inc. showcases what many would call The Ultimate Muscle Car; a fully restored, 1968 Pontiac GTO equipped with the Baer Pro+ front and SS4+ rear brake system. And this quick, one-minute video by Baer truly showcases just how good this brake system can look on your muscle car build.

About the Baer Brake Pro+ System

The Baer BrakesPro+ disc brake kits are built to please the most demanding users. They include Baer 6P compact 6-piston calipers machined from 2618 forgings, resulting in the stiffest possible design, even at extreme operating temperatures. They use radial mounting configurations to disperse loads evenly, and internal fluid transfer tube passages for an ultra-clean look. The Baer Brakes Baer Claw Pro+ disc brake kits include brake rotors with zinc coated surfaces and a matched set of brake pads. The unique 2-piece rotors use an aluminum hat to reduce overall weight, allow for differential expansion of the rotor plates, and lower thermal transfer to the hub.

About the Baer Brake SS4+

Baer Brakes SS4 disc brake systems with park brake deliver superb stopping power. These systems feature their S4 4-piston calipers mounted to a slotted, drilled, zinc plated rotor (see diameters). Baer systems include unique billet backing plates that not only act as caliper mounts but also house the banksia (one-piece) park shoe–a more modern and better working park brake assembly. Baer Brakes SS4 disc brake systems are completed with stainless steel brake hoses and the proper banjo fittings and come in a choice of red, black, or silver powder coat for the calipers.
