Looking to further expand their wheel offerings, business opportunities, technical capabilities, and appeal to customers, Weld Racing recently acquired wheel manufacturer CCW. “CCW has a 25 year history and herritage of building high-quality wheels for road racing and sports car applications,” says Weld Racing VP of Marketing, Chris Bovis. CCW builds their forged wheels in house at their Daytona Beach, Florida facility.
CCW will be handling the sports car, and road race products for Weld Racing. Their extensive product line covers one-piece monoblock wheels, as well as two piece and more traditional three-piece wheels.
Bovis says that CCW specializes in custom fitment, and can handle just about any application ranging from the street performance and stance crowd, up to high-end luxury vehicles, where owners want a unique or exclusive product.
Bovis says CCW brings to Weld Racing, a top notch design staff, that is well versed in wheel design, custom finishes, and the latest styles. “We gain a lot of assets and capability by bringing CCW into the Weld family.”
Weld will be able to bring their engineering capability and technical expertise to the pictures. “This will help CCW accelerate product development and allow them to be more nimble in the marketplace,” Bovis says.

Hanging out in the Weld Racing booth was a brand new 2015 BMW M4, wearing a set of CCW Forged performance Hybrid T1000 wheels, a brand new model wheel. This is a two-piece wheel based on an interesting concept. CCW has taken a monoblock wheel and machined off the outer rim edge, allowing a three-piece rim edge to be bolted to the wheel. This allows for an even wider range of fitments. “You get the look and fit options of a three piece wheel, but you also get the strength and durability of a forged monoblock wheel.
With the acquisition of CCW, as well as a few of the other changes that Weld Racing has recently made, the company’s future is looking brighter than ever as they cater to an even wider range of enthusiasts.
