How far gone, is too far gone? Forum member CrookedRacer came across this barn find Triumph GT6 Mk I and decided to ask his fellow forum members that same exact question. All though he was offered the car completely free, was it worth the hassle of having to extract it himself? Most of the time when we hear the word “free”, we’re more than inclined to take whatever that person is offering, off their hands. As the saying goes, one man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.
He states in the original post, “It would be a frame off restoration, since I will need to separate them just to assess the integrity of the frame. But one of the only places I could access, behind the driver side front wheel, I could put my fingers through holes in the piece that sits just below the drivers footwell. Granted, that’s the place that gets the salt spray. 20 years ago. Seems to me there are better projects available for certainly less hassle. My goal for a project at this time is to build a track car, and I was thinking Ecoboost 4 cal would be bad ass. Pie in the sky, I realize.”
But other forum members seem to be optimistic about the car, stating – “It does look like it needs a ton of bodywork and maybe even the chassis replaced, if you’re handy it should be doable.”
